Matwork Pilates

During a Matwork class the exercises focus on balance, posture, core strength and flexibility. You are taken through a sequence of movements starting from standing and finishing on the floor.

You are taken through a sequence of movements at standing, sitting and lying on the floor, using various items of equipment.

Matwork Pilates focuses on strengthening the stomach and back muscles. This aligns the spine and improves posture.

The long term benefit of this is you learn to reprogram the way you hold yourself, and, as you go through life, you will be stronger, more stable and less prone to injury.

Mats are provided along with equipment such as blocks, foam rollers, stability balls, chi balls and exercise bands. These are used to assist, progress or modify an exercise, making sure each exercise is tailored to the individual.

Class sizes are limited to 13, and all clients are asked to fill out a health screening form, before attending a session so that advice can be given for specific issues.
