Postnatal Pilates

This session is taken by Julie Duffin who both has over 10 years experience in the fitness profession teaching exercise and pilates classes at Esporta, Greens and Virgin gym. Julie is fully insured, first aid qualified, holding the relevant antenatal/postnatal qualification.

The postnatal sessions are uniquely designed for new mums to bring baby too. The exercises consists of posture and back strengthening work, pelvic floor/abdominal toning and flexibility stretches all designed with new mum in mind. Before you can attend a session you must of had a 6(normal delivery) or 12/13(c-section) week check up with the midwife and the all clear to exercise. You can also bring baby along to the session too.

You can be happy in the knowledge that unlike mainstream exercise classes, all the exercises undertaken are completely safe and effective for  prenatal/postnatal women. You won't feel isolated like perhaps you would do in a normal class, doing alternatives on your own and not being 'entirely' sure you are doing the exercise correct.

The sessions are as follows -

Postnatal Pilates Tuesday 1.45pm - 2.45pm with Julie.

A 4 week course fee is £30 and must be pre-booked as places are limited to 8 clients, mats and any equipment used are provided.

Sheffield community midwives have tested out the classes and deem them to be very safe and effective. Midwives are invited to attend a class to see for themselves.
